Mercury Ground Support played a critical role in the seamless offloading of the Skydweller Aero—an uncrewed, solar-powered aircraft capable of perpetual flight—following its transatlantic arrival from Spain aboard a Cargolux Airlines 747. The operation took place at Stennis International Airport in Kiln, Mississippi.
This milestone shipment marks a significant step forward for the next generation of aviation technology, with Skydweller Aero pushing the boundaries of endurance flight through renewable energy. Its arrival in the U.S. highlights both the progress of the program and the importance of experienced ground-handling support to manage the complex logistics of moving cutting-edge equipment across continents.
Mercury’s team worked alongside cargo crews and project stakeholders to ensure the safe and efficient unloading of the disassembled aircraft components, which required precision, care, and industry expertise.
