In 1948 Mercury was formed by ex Flying Tigers personnel to refuel and service aircraft at LAX. From 1960 to 1988 Mercury was the largest refueler and ground handling company on the West Coast of the U.S. For many years Mercury was the ground handler at LAX for British Airways, Qantas, Air France, UTA, Lufthansa, World Airways and others. Since 1988 Mercury has specialized only in the sale, lease or rent of GSE all over the world.

We number among our clients - Boeing, American Airlines, Air France, United Airlines, Delta Airlines, America West, Ansett Air Freight, Japan Airlines, British Airways, Northwest Airlines, UPS, DHL Airways, Federal Express, Lufthansa, Swissair, Qantas, Ogden Aviation, General Electric, and the U.S. Navy and Air Force.

COMPANY STRUCTURE
The president of Mercury, Ron Spiegel, has been closely involved in all facets of the GSE and ground handling industry. This has enabled him to gain extensive knowledge of competitive equipment in addition to the present/future value of this equipment, all of which form part of our data base. We can offer the necessary GSE required for various aircraft to start up airlines and ground handling companies upon request. We specialize in the larger items, i.e. loaders, aircraft tow tractors and air starters.

MERCURY RENTALS - LEASE AND RENTAL DIVISION
The majority of our business, which is based at LAX is the lease and rental of GSE to Airlines and ground handling companies throughout the world.

MERCURY GSE - SALES DIVISION
We are the distributors for North America for Static Engineering Australia - Manufacturers of the Lockheed recommended military aircraft loader for certain parts of the world.

We are also the distributors for certain parts of the world for the following Manufacturers:
Wasp, S & S Tug, Trilectron, Taylor-Dunn and Wollard Airport Equipment – Manufacturers of America's finest equipment.

MERCURY GSE – OVERHAUL DIVISION
We "zero time" large items of GSE to "like new" condition for American Airlines, Qantas and many more.

The engineer of our rebuild facility is familiar with all types of GSE and has "hands on" knowledge of rebuilding this equipment from start to finish. Our team produces the highest quality of work found in the U.S.A.

INVENTORY
Our inventory includes over 180 pieces of motorized GSE from baggage tractors to 150,000lb heavy aircraft tractors to 250ppm wide body aircraft jet starters.

LAX - HEADQUARTERS
Our administrative office is only 1 mile from the airfield at LAX where our rental yard holds "ready line" equipment that can be dispatched immediately.

At LAX we have a staff of 14 who are all dedicated to providing the same high quality of service that Mercury GSE has gained a reputation for within the airline support industry.
